The Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities (CHRO) has extended the deadline for employers to complete their mandatory sexual harassment prevention training to January 1, 2021.
Connecticut’s Time’s Up Act, which was passed in 2019, requires employers with three or more employees to provide all employees with two hours of training. Employers with fewer than three employees are required to provide two hours of training to all supervisory employees.
When originally passed, the deadline for these requirements was October 1, 2020. During the coronavirus pandemic, however, the state granted extensions on a case-by-case basis. Now, the state has extended the deadline for all employers by 90 days, to January 1, 2021. The deadline to train new employees hired on or after October 1, 2019, however, remains six months from hire.
